Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the hand acupressure and lumbar strengthening exercise on young adult women with back pain. Methods: The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 37 female young adults (19 persons in the experimental group and 18 persons in the control group). The hand acupressure and strengthening exercise for lower back were developed by the investigator and a hand acupressure expert. The experimental group was exposed to this program 5 days a week for 4 weeks. The visual analog scale, back muscle strength, flexibility, and quality of life were used as measurement instruments. The data were analyzed with frequency, t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS 18.0. Results: In this study, the hand acupressure and strengthening exercise showed siginificant effects on the back muscle strength, flexibility, and quality of life in the experimental group compared to the control group. However, back pain score was not significantly decreased after the program. Conclusion: The study suggests that this program can be applied for the women with low back pain in order to enhance the back muscle strength, flexibility, and quality of life.

Abstract
This study has investigated experience of middle aged women who attended a self help group to overcome midlife crisis. Methods: To analyze types of experience that middle aged women attending the self help group went through to overcome midlife crisis, Q-methodology has been used. The 32 selected Q-samples from each of 27 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using a QUANL PC program. The 38 selected Q-samples from each of 27 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using a QUANL PC program. Results: The types of experience were classified into four categories; Type I (attempt to change ), Type II (devoted to my role), Type III (tolerance and acceptance) and Type IV (role as a senior citizen). Conclusion: This study is significant in that it has attempted to analyze the approach and usefulness of a self-help group program. It is suggestive that a local society support group may be necessary to help people with midlife crisis and further studies for nursing intervention and strategic development are required.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing hospital staffs’ performance ability of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Methods: The study was conducted with 250 hospital staffs in B hospital located in Busan. The survey data were collected from August 1 to September 15, 2012 and were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS WIN 19.0 program. Results: There were statistically significant differences in performance ability of CPR depending on occupations, CPR experience, CPR situations, identification of Automated external defibrillator (AED) location within the hospital, AED use experience, CPR training experience and AED training experience. A significant positive correlation was found between CPR knowledge and performance ability in addition to a significant positive correlation between CPR attitude and to performance ability. The significant factors influencing performance ability of CPR were CPR attitude, occupations, CPR training experience, knowledge and identification of AED location within the hospital. Those factors explained about 40.1% of the variance. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a strategy for hospital staff to improve the levels of performance ability of CPR.

Abstract
Due to the academic demands from a theory and practice-based educational program, nursing students often experience psychological burdens. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mindfulness meditation programs on nursing students’ perceived stress, depression, and self-efficacy. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were recruited from two nursing colleges. The sample consisted of an intervention group (n=29) that participated in a mindfulness meditation program and a control group (n=30). The experimental group participated in the program for 120 minutes a week for a total of 8 sessions. The data were collected prior and after the intervention using self-administered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, X2-test, Fisher’s exact probability test, and the t-test. Results: After the application of the mindfulness meditation program, the experimental group showed a significant difference in perceived stress(t=-10.33, p<.001), depression (t=-2.17, p=.035), and self-efficacy (t=2.57, p=.013) scores. However, there was no significant differrence in the control group. Conclusion: These findings provide a supportive evidence of mindfulness meditation program as a behavioral intervention to reduce stress, depression and increase self-efficacy among nursing students.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the view on old age of nurses working at general hospitals, geriatric hospitals, oriental hospitals and public health centers. Methods: Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire from 461 nurses working at 3 general hospitals, 8 geriatric hospitals, 7 oriental hospitals and 6 public health centers located in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do from June 20 to September 6, 2012. Results: The mean score of the nurses` view about old age was 3.38 out of 5 points. The details show that the "society character" was the highest at 4.58, followed by the "capacity character" 3.94, the "psychology·economical character" 3.02 and the "physical·cognitive character" 2.71. As for workplace, oriental hospitals had the highest points on the view about old age, while geriatric hospitals had the lowest. Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that the nurses’ view about old age were above the moderate level. As for workplace, geriatric hospital nurses had the lowest view about old age. Therefore, it is recommended to develop an educational program that may promote the nurses` view about old age and provide the better elderly care service.

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to develop and to evaluate a internet-based social support program for the mothers of congenitally abnormal children. The theoretical basis of the study is the moderating effect model of social support theory (Cobb, 1976). Methods: In first phase, an internet support program was developed according to the practical web development stages proposed by Boling and Frick (2002).In the second phase, the internet support program was provided and evaluated to 18 mothers who reared congenitally abnormal children from March to May 2008. Results: In the first stage, demands of the program were collected from interviews of eighteen mothers of congenitally abnormal children of ages one to three. At the same time, literature review and validity of the contents were also examined. In the second stage, the correspondence of the program contents to the social support needed was also examined. In the third and fourth stages, prototype of the social program was prepared in documents and that of compur program was prepared. In the final stage, an internetbased web site was constructed. The social support provided by the web site were composed of informational support, emotional support and appraisal support including bulletin board system and chatting service. After program development, pre-tests and post-test were performed to investigate the effect of the program on maternal confidence and mood. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test. The analysis showed that maternal confidence of post-test was improved than that of pre-test with statistically meaningful figure (Z=-2.54,p<.05). The positive mood of post-test was also improved than that of pre-test and the result was statistically supported (Z=-2.20, p<.05).Conclusion: It is suggestive that the internet based social support programs is accessible and appropriate service to congenitally abnormal children’s mother. It is necessary to develop and use the internet based social support programs in public health system.

Stress were significantly different according to gender (t=-2.51, p<.05), grade (F=5.40,p<.01), school record (F=5.72, p<.01), stress solving methods (F=2.62, p<.05). Internal health locus of control was significantly different according to gender (t=2.30, p<.05), grade (F=14.73, p<.001), religion (F=4.63, p<.01), school record (F=5.29, p<.01), economic state (F=5.50, p<.001) and smoking (F=4.17, p<.05). Chance health locus of control was significantly different according to sibling rank (F=2.86, p<.05). Except chance health locus of control, internal heath locus of control and dependence health locus of control have a negative correlation with stress. 15.6% of variance in stress was explained by dependence health locus of control, chance health locus of control, and grade. Conclusion: The findings of this study may be useful in understanding the stress expression of nursing college students and developing
more specific programs on personality and self-control.
